PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Med Flight March 2018 – Present
I function as an emergency medical helicopter nurse. I am cross-trained with paramedic skills and work off protocols for the treatment and care of patients. I am a member of a three-person team with a paramedic and a pilot. I can see the full spectrum of emergency medical patients both prehospital and hospital, which requires a wide range of skills and continued training.

As a Critical Care Transport Nurse, I cared for patients of all ages and acuity levels. I functioned as a charge nurse, preceptor, and competency skills evaluator. As co-chair of our Shared Governance Committee, I was part of a group working on policy revision and new policy implementation.

As a Nurse Care Manager, I worked with three primary care practices. I followed up with their patients after a hospital admission or emergency department visit to make sure they understood their discharge instructions and had the resources they needed.

Working as a Critical Care Transport Nurse gave me transport experience with trauma, pediatric, cardiac, neuro, and obstetric patients. I worked as a preceptor, evaluated patient care related to the RACE/STEMI program, and assisted with the Chest Pain accreditation process. I worked as a nurse resource in the Emergency Department and continued to develop my skills as an Emergency Department nurse.
