Lackawanna Pro Bono Helping Make A Difference: Med Legal Pro Donates $2,000

On Monday, May 1st, 2023, Tracy Liberatore, Esq, founder and CEO of Med Legal Pro, presented Lackawanna Pro Bono with a $2,000 check in support of LPB's annual golf tournament fundraiser.

In her remarks, Liberatore said, "We are delighted to be able to support Lackawanna Pro Bono and their members in their mission to provide legal representation for those in our community when they most need a legal advocate."

Who Is Lackawanna Pro Bono & What Do They Do?

Lackawanna Pro Bono is a non-profit organization through which local lawyers volunteer – free of charge – to represent people living in poverty with serious civil legal problems in Lackawanna County. The Annual Golf Tournament fundraiser will be held at Elmhurst Country Club on Monday, June 12th, 2023.

Pro bono representation is needed because the American Bar Association has estimated that 80% of America's poor cannot obtain legal representation when they have serious civil legal problems.

Government-funded legal aid programs work hard to serve the indigent but cannot meet the enormous need due to insufficient funding, conflicts of interest, and regulatory restrictions.

Through Lackawanna Pro Bono, attorneys offering legal services have the unique opportunity to make a tremendous difference in the lives of those living in poverty, utilizing their valuable experience in the legal field to help our community when they need it most.
